Relative Justice

Fair is foul, and foul is fair.

In Shakespeare's Macbeth, three witches appear together in a desert place with thunder and lightning at the opening scene. They have just planned to entrap Macbeth. They sing in unison of their own relative justice at the end of this short scene:

THREE WITCHES:
Fair is foul, and foul is fair.
Hover through the fog and filthy air.

シェイクスピアの『マクベス』は、雷鳴のとどろく荒野に三人の魔女が現れるシーンからはじまる。魔女たちはマクベスを罠に陥れる計画を立てたところである。三人の魔女はこの短いシーンの終わりに自らの相対的正義について声をそろえて歌う。
